Kindness Chain

( Early Learning - Elementary School)

Make a kindness chain. Using strips of colored paper, have students tell you when they do an act of kindness. Write it on the strip of paper and make a circle like a link in a chain. Each time a student reports another act of kindness, you make another link and add it to the chain. Watch the chain grow, knowing that it represents many acts of kindness. Talk about how even very small things like smiling at someone new or helping to clean up after an activity add up to a long chain of kindness and make a big difference to others.
